CAT Tools

Every translator should work as efficiently and quickly as possible while providing an excellent product. Many translators have turned to computer-aided-translation (CAT) tools to do this. There are many on the market, including SDL TRADOS®, and Deja Vu®, but my favorite is WordFast, which is simply a template that you can use with Microsoft Word® and other Office® programs. It's cheaper than most and if most of your electronic source documents are in Word, this is the way to go. It is compatible in many ways with TRADOS®.

Translator's Home Companion

Want to find a mailing list, online translation journal, glossaries or get inf on just about all the translation tools/software out there? The THC is your site. It also has a list of places to find translation work. Updated infrequently.

AIT Software

I use Translation Office 3000 including AnyCount (does not get the same counts Word necessarily). Affordable, practically bug-free, and a huge help in managing jobs,  creating invoices, and tracking expenses.
